Do you know the feeling of having two versions of a shot and not being able to decide which one you prefer? In the end I have chosen this one (but someone inside of me keeps telling me that there is still the other version and that it might be better...). But now it is too late! The picture was taken a while ago and since then it is resting on my hard drive and looking at me form time to time. I kind of like the feeling of the lost girl in a dark world. She seems to be vulnerable but also confident at the same time.
ADD ON: For everybody who asked me for the coloured version - here it is!

Im Endeffekt habe ich mich für dieses Bild entschieden (und somit gegen die Farben). Aber irgendwer in mir blubbert die ganze Zeit vor sich hin und versucht mich zu überzeugen, dass die andere Version vielleicht doch besser ist. Aber nun ist es zu spät! Das Bild schlummert schon seit einiger Zeit auf meiner Festplatte herum und schaut mich von Zeit zu Zeit an. Irgendwie mag ich die Stimmung von einem verlorenen Mädel in einer dunklen Welt. Sie wirkt so verletzlich und Selbstbewusst zur gleichen Zeit.
ZUSATZ: Für all die, die nach der zweiten Version gefragt haben - hier ist sie!

also ich kenne ja die andere version nicht, diese hier ist auf jeden fall umwerfend! wenn die kleine bei längerem betrachten auch etwas sehr raussticht. wie war denn die andere version?
But I know exactly what you mean about having two versions you can't decide on. Sometimes I'll just put both up in a single post, rather than try to decide. I'd like to see the other version of this.
As it's been said, its very surreal, that's a beautiful shot. Any more details about at what occasion you shot this one ? It reminds me of a commercial.

It's strange, I had an initial very positive reaction to this image, but the more I looked at it, the more I wasn't sure if I liked the contrast in the toning--it almost make sit look as though the girl was posted into another background.
Would be curious to see the other shot...

Cool shot, this reminds me of the movie "The City of Lost Children" in the subject matter and colors you've chosen here.
mir gefällt die farbige version besser, da sie lebendiger ist. auf dem kolorierten bild sieht das mädchen irgendwie wie ein geist aus.

Great composition, but I actually prefer the toning of the colour version better. I think there is enough natural contrast between the girl and the background, and the posted version looks too artificial and "pasted" in...
Das Blöde daran, nur selten in Fotoblogs unterwegs zu sein und manche Bilder erst spät zu sehen ist ja, dass sämtliche mir zu dem Bild einfallende Superlative schon geschrieben wurden. ;-)
Bleibt mir nur zu sagen, dass mich dieses hier sehr berührt.

I adore the contrast between the dark background and the white of the baby. It makes the shot surreal.
