I decided that it is necessary to buy new plants for a new apartment. This one is my favourite. I am sure it is a „she“, because she is wearing purple. A man - I am sure - wouldn’t do that. At least they don’t in my understanding of male taste. A few evenings ago (I was on the way to bed) I looked at her briefly and saw this tear at one of her blossoms. Suddenly I kinda felt strange. After another closer look I discovered more tears at her leaves and now I am hoping that she is not missing her purple friends from the market garden. And therefore I am trying to be a bit nicer to her than normally.
Mal schauen, ob es was bringt.

Ah, I talk to my plants all the time. And, well... the gender issue is not really an issue at least for italians, as we don't have the "neutral" like german, but all names are either female or male (even for plants, or inanimate objects). So, we have male plants, and female plants based on the gender of their name.
And yeah, I cannot think of any male plant wearing purple...
Marina, this is a beautiful shot! Reminds me of an Art Wolfe shot we saw together at REI. Hope you are well. Congrats on your new apt. I'm living in a new location too (still in Seattle).

It's a beautiful thought (and image) but I'm sure she is very happy.
I am wearing purple socks, I guess that's not allowed...
