Yes, this is very much true. Generally, during weddings a typical 'mehendi' or 'henna' taken a very long time.
It took around a day for my wife. The hands (back and front), legs till ankle length are full of such beautiful small yet detailed designs. It's a patience and back breaking work for both the artist and his subject.
